In this tiny island

minsan kwela, minsan walang kabuluhan, minsan masaya, minsan malungkot, minsan magulo.... gusto ko lang iparating sa inyo ang nangyayari sa aking mundo.

Woohoo!

Since my photo upload was successful, I would like to share another successful endeavor...

our adjustment of status for greencard has been approved!

This has been a major intention in our prayers for the past months. Primarily, so that hubby can get work. Being on a dependent's visa does not allow him to apply for work. Now that that greencard has been approved, he can now apply... yehey...

Also, this gives us the security that we can stay in the States since we are legal permanent residents already. I've been on work wisa for 5 years now and I would have reached the max years by next year. At least our baby girl does not have this problem since she's a US citizen already.

This is a great Easter blessing for us... oh, did i mention, I consider Easter to be one of my feast days because one Easter Sunday (many years back) I was baptized (a few days after being born on Good Friday). I knew something special would again happen at Easter. What a great blessing this truly is.

testing, testing, upload

Thou Shalt Not...

... accuse people of stealing your ring, when you have no proof and just have circumstantial evidence...

This happened to me, and it's really offensive. It was a regular day, I was just doing my job when all of a sudden, the HR manager calls me to his office. He asked me if I knew something about the ring of a coworker that got lost in their department. I said no, and actually they asked me already. It just so happened that I entered their department that day to provide them with something. Little did I know that they were already suspecting me of getting the ring!

Then, there's another angle... this woman keeps on losing or misplacing her ring. This is not the first time that she's lost the ring. And she has the nerve to think that I took her ring. In the first place, why would you put your ring on top of the filing cabinet if it's very valuable for you? She always loses her ring... for all I know, it's tucked somewhere in her purse or in her drawer somewhere.... aaarrrrgggghhhhh!

Just had to get this out of my system.

Robots

We watched Robots, this afternoon...

Was really a good deal. It actually was a fund raising for Catholic Daughters of America. However, we got our tickets at 50% off the fund raising fee. We didn't know that the tickets would include food too. So for $10, we were able to watch the movie, and get hotdogs, popcorn and a soda too. Well, I guess, we did not contribute much to the fund raising, but it sure was fun to watch the movie.

Also, my little one is really into eating now. Imagine, she consumed half of my hotdog sandwich!!! So I had to have hubby buy me another sandwich. hehehe

Takaw, baby!

Temps r Us

Today I have a 'sideline'. Actually it's the first time that I am doing work on an hourly basis. It's just to help out my former boss with an email he wants sent to different people. I spent 3 hours at his new office. Oh how I missed being in an office that looks professional and actually looks like an office. They really have a good work environment.

I didn't earn much today. Imagine being paid at minimum wage and just working for 3 hours. You do the math! Well it's not the pay, I really just wanted to help. Plus, let's look at it as establishing connections, for we may never know what will happen in the future.

Maglakad man ako maghapon, di ako makakapulot ng ganung halaga noh, kahit pa lakihan ko ang mata ko at pulutin lahat ng barya. - hahaha

Plus, my earnings for the day is equivalent to one small can of milk, or probably 3 packs of diaper for my dear baby.

Oh my island...

ISLAND

noun: a tract of land surrounded by water and smaller than a continent

Oooh, definitely smaller than a continent. Even smaller than Metro Manila. This island where I live. Read on as you see how a lot of things can happen in this tiny island.

Or just bear with the ramblings of a girl who wants to just express her thoughts to the world.
